I've Hit a Speedbump

Yeah, I've hit a slight speed bump. I'm sick and I'm supposed to go running tonight. Every time I even walk, it feels like my lungs are going to burst.

So I guess I should make an appointment to see the doc. I'll get this sickness cleared up and also get back on my asthma meds which will make running a little more enjoyable. I think. Hopefully it will at least reduce the feeling of breathing through cotton. One can only hope!

I'm beginning week 3 of the Couch to 5K program this week and I'm getting really excited. I can totally see now that doing this program is better than just getting on a treadmill or track and seeing how much I can do and hoping it'll be enough by June. Every time I've gone to the gym before to "get in shape" I end up pushing myself too hard and I hit a wall. I love that I just do exactly what the app on my phone tells me to. No more and no less. And the best news of all....

IT HASN'T KILLED ME YET!!

Week 2-Day 2

Wowza! Running is starting to feel good! When I started, it felt like death.

The only thing that is still really hard for me is breathing. It still feels like I'm breathing through a washcloth. Even though running is physically getting better, breathing hasn't improved AT ALL.

Sebastian went with me tonight. It's still depressing that everyone just runs laps around me instead of running with me. I need Cassandra back! Now!

I also would like some new running shoes and some sexy running clothes. I don't know why, but I think feeling cute while running will improve my stamina. Hahahaha!

Week 1-Day 2

Ugh...need to find a better app for the c25k. The one I have has too many glitches!

The workout today went well. While I was way sore, the run itself actually felt better than the one on Monday. I didn't feel like I was going to die! :D

I also decided that once I get down a few more pounds, I'm going to reward myself with some new running shoes. Mine are on their last leg of life and bustin' at the seams.

Cassandra has been such a great sport! I love having someone to go running with, especially someone that makes me laugh so much. It's nice having someone to share your success with when you've finished that last round of jogging.

Week 1-Day 1

It was a success!! I had no idea how out of shape I was! Wow! Seriously just alternating walking for 90 seconds and jogging for 60 seconds for a total of 20 minutes doesn't sound that hard! Then I realized just how out of shape I am.

I woke up this morning soooooo sore. Cassandra and I still went to the gym and did mostly weights with a little bit of jogging. It helps so much to have someone there to talk to and to be able to encourage eachother.

I also found a scale while I was there! I've lost 4 pounds since I started getting up and moving around after surgery. Hopefully I'll lose some more! My goal is to lose 7-12 more pounds and to just feel healthier in general.

Also, I might be able to pay my registration for The Dirty Dash in the next few days! I can't wait! I'm soooo excited to get my run on and get filthy dirty!

The Day Before Day One

I'm really nervous about starting the C25K program tomorrow, but also very very excited!

I have a tendency to start things and not finish them, but hopefully this is something I'll be able to actually accomplish and feel great about!

For those of you who don't know, I had an abdominal surgery a couple of months ago. I have never in my life felt as out of shape as I do right now. Also, sitting on the couch for the last two months without even working has really inspired me to get up and do something!!

I'm going to also try my hand at water aerobics tomorrow at the gym for the first time. Although I'm not thrilled about wearing a swim suit and showing off my scarred up tummy in public, at least it will be in a pool fool of old saggy people. :D

Along with this new exercise regimen, I will be going back to eating super healthy. I love my baby weight for the most part after each of my kids was born by eating a very healthy diet and I know that will help.

My goal at the end of the C25K program is to be able to run the Dirty Dash in Soldier Hollow on June 4th! It sounds like so much fun. I have always loved getting dirty and muddy and there is no other run to be better for my virgin race! Wish me luck and check back often for updates.

Feel free to leave some encouraging comments too!!
